The Proper Leaky Gut Syndrome Treatment

We’ve already discussed what is leaky gut and the numerous symptoms that are associated with it. If you are wondering if there is a way to heal this disorder, well, there is.

The proper leaky gut syndrome treatment starts with your diet. Your diet is very important when you want to restore the health of your intestines. It is only logical because all the foods that you eat and the beverages that you drink all pass through the intestine. If they are harming the gut, then the gut will experience problems and soon, the damage will be so great that it will not function properly at all.

healthy foods for leaky gut syndromeYou should eat foods that contain healing properties that can aid the gut in restoring its health. There are plenty of these foods. You can eat virtually anything except for foods that are overflowing with chemicals such as foods that are packed, processed, contaminated and foods that are full of preservatives.

Of course, your diet plays a major role but it doesn’t end there. Once you have properly adjusted your diet to fit the leaky gut syndrome treatment protocol, you need to maintain it to see results. Also, you need to take vitamins and supplements in order to speed up the healing process.

These supplements can be from the foods that you eat or you can take them in pill or capsule forms. You need to take probiotics so that your bacterial level in the gut is balanced, digestive enzymes so that your digestion is healthy and many other supplements that aid the digestion so that your digestive tract can go back to its healthy state.

Needless to say, it is important that you maintain your healthy diet so that you wil be more immune to other disorders in the future. Aside from leaky gut syndrome, there are a lot of other disorders that you can prevent simply by following a diet that contains clean and nutritious foods.

Leaky Gut Syndrome

What exactly is leaky gut syndrome?

Leaky gut syndrome is the resulting disorder when one’s intestinal lining is damaged and is incapable of perfectly filtering waste,
toxins and many more harmful substances from entering the bloodstream. These substances are normally rejected and secreted as waste products. When these enter the bloodstream, they start causing trouble to the body and several symptoms appear. These substances also trigger an autoimmune reaction and if untreated, it may set the stage for various autoimmune disorders.

Leaky gut syndrome is not really taught in medical schools. Alternative health practitioners came up with the term. The other, and more official, term for it is intestinal hyper permeability. The symptoms of the disorder are very painful and can often be related to other illnesses. Since most doctors deny the existence of the disease, due to lack of conclusive evidence and research, some of them end up treating the symptom instead of the root cause.

The digestion process is simple, we eat and then they go down to the stomach to the intestine where they are broken down in order for the body to absorb the nutrients that it needs and separate the unneeded and harmful substances for secretion. That’s how it should go but if you have a leaky gut, then those unneeded and harmful substances that should have been eliminated can make their way to the bloodstream. They invade the body so the immune system fights them off. when the immune system can’t keep up any longer, these foreign invaders will make their way to the different organs, tissues and joints causing complications.

There are many causes of leaky gut. One of the most common one is the intake of antibiotics. Antibiotics kills off bacteria, both good and bad. The intestine houses a huge number of good and bad bacteria and if that number is thrown off balance, chances of developing leaky gut syndrome goes up. A specific yeast organism that can be considered harmful is Candida. It can be found in the intestine and other parts of the body. It’s not really harmful if the number is kept in check. However, since antibiotics also kill off the good bacteria, there is a chance that the balance may be disrupted and this causes leaky gut.

Another primary cause of leaky gut is diet. If the diet consists mainly of foods that are low in nutrients and hhealthy foodsigh in chemicals and sugar, one is highly prone to developing the disorder. One should avoid junk foods and processed foods and go for fruits and vegetables and foods that provide the body with ample nutrition. Also, the beverage of choice should be clean and clear water.

Unfortunately for all of us suffering from leaky gut, there is no readily available over the counter medicine that can cure our disorder. Fortunately, there are ways to treat leaky gut. The causes can be avoided in order to prevent the disorder from developing or if you already suffer from it, there are ways to improve our overall health and let the gut heal naturally.
